Industry professionals get together and discuss topics relevant to their craft, their artistic identity, and the world at large. Audience members are encouraged to ask questions and join in the conversation. We encourage reflection, connection, and a space to check in with other artists.

Join us in The Zoom Room for a virtual play reading! 

Do you have a favorite play or dream role that you want to explore? A classic that you've been meaning to read forever? How about a new draft of a work in development? Send us your suggestions, and Artists in Residence will help cast and coordinate the online event. 

Readings can be private or organized as a public performance, with proceeds donated to charity of your choice.

LUPE -  His granddaughter, twin sister to Chucho. Doesn't remember the old world. Curious. Female presenting, 20s. Hispanic/Latinx

CHUCHO - His grandson, twin brother to Lupe. Doesn't remember the world. Sensitive.  Male presenting, 20s. Hispanic/Latinx

GUS - Actor playing the role of an unknowing audience member, except he knows.

Call For Actors and Directors

THE QUARANTINE PLAYS - Sharing the stories and experiences of artists during a global pandemic

Artists in Residence is currently seeking Toronto based Non-Union Actors for “The Quarantine Plays." This festival of 6 original short plays will begin rehearsals over Zoom on October 4th, with the intent of staging a live performance in *Late Fall 2020 (*In compliance with public health guidelines!)


Artists of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, gender identities and abilities are encouraged to apply. 


This is an unpaid opportunity. All proceeds raised will be donated to The Actors Fund of Canada.
